This is the portfolio of Michael Ezra Keith—he much prefers his middle name “Ezra” to avoid confusion among the dozens of “Michael's” here. A freshman at Stetson University, Ezra recently declared a Russian Studies major, but of course, he dabbles in music and recording. He took piano lessons when he was rather young, picked up his older half-brother's bass guitar in middle school, and was taught to play the trumpet in his high school band. Towards the end of his high school career, he began playing the horn, and he currently plays in both the horn ensemble and symphonic band at Stetson. His main motivation in recording has been to learn a new skill relevant to his musical interests. While not (and never going to be) a professional musician, Ezra does consider playing music one of his passions in life; a relaxing pastime, a way to express himself, etc., etc… Not that he thinks himself a good musician, mind you, but that he truly enjoys the act of playing. Learning basic recording skills will give him the opportunity to take this passion one step further, and give some sense of permanence to his music. He is frequently mistaken for Van Helsing, especially when freelance vampire-slaying. This is an activity he has come to enjoy and become proficient at, (he quotes) "especially since they sparkle now." He also pretends to be able to write poetry (see the deviantART link below) and serves as the co-editor of Touchstone and co-host of Poetry at an Uncouth Hour (cough cough Thursdays, 9 pm, in Nightlites cough cough). |
